This needs a more suitable category to be placed in, as TeamTNT isn't a single person. DooMAD 19:28, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Weasel words and gas lighting on this page.[]
- The practice of selling mods has since become entrenched and accepted in all gaming communities, but at the time the debate over whether this should be accepted was heated. TeamTNT were snubbed by a sizable minority of players for some years after the incident.
Okay, I don't care if he's a DOOM speedrunner and works for RedHat, AdamW needs to be banned for writing this flagrant piece of gaslighting and intentionally ignoring why the controversy happened.
TeamTNT announced "our megawad will be free for everyone". Then at the very last hours before official release "lol jk we made a deal with Romero. Evilution will be sold in stores." THAT is why people hated TeamTNT so much at the time. They're greedy liers who broke a promise to the DOOM community at large.
AdamW's 2007 edit was never around for other incidents like the Skyrim\Fallout 4 Paid Mod controversies of 2015 that caused Zenimax to withdraw paid mods on PC at least. (Zenimax still allows stripped down and inferior mods to be sold through their proprietary store and on consoles, because Publishers love being like this. For decades now, it seems.)
I don't care what weasal wording you use, it is NOT an acceptable practice or looked well upon in every community, or possibly even the majority of gamers. There was mod authors during the 2015 Paid Mod controversy intentionally pulling their mods and shutting down their accounts, so that other people won't steal their work or build on top of it without any compensation. It wasn't an uncommon practice during the time to steal other peoples mods while it briefly was up either.
Don't revert the original page back and say "well MY experience" or other anecdotal ideas somehow overrules how other people feel.
