This is unreachable by normal means   It has been pointed out on Usenet [1] that the height of the "hole" sector is 32, whereas the player's height after death is 14, so the hidden area can theoretically be entered with several concurrent arch-vile jumps.  I seriously doubt that this is possible except by TASing (among other things, roundoff error can perceptibly affect jumps of great length, as with the E1M4 exit jump), but I thought I'd point it out anyway in the name of furthering Doom esoterica.  :D     Ryan W 04:38, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Boss texture glitch[]

86.156.186.34 commented: There is no construction mistake on the head. It's an anomaly of the textures themselves.

Fair enough, and at least now the glitch is covered there properly (since the texture will doubtfully ever have an article for itself.) Who is like God? 13:41, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Alternative way to win[]

A player can stand in the switch area, not activate the switch, and then carefully shoot rockets into the head. None will score a direct hit, but the blast damage of thirty or so rockets is enough to kill the head and win the game. For this, it's highly recommended using the plasma rifle as a tracer to help aim into the brain and to clear out any monsters that approach while launching the rockets. 50.133.222.71 12:15, January 24, 2012 (UTC)
