SnapMap is a feature introduced in Doom (2016). It is an in-engine map editor available with all versions of the game except Nintendo Switch, with maps created through SnapMap available for download on any platform. Unlike the previous games, users are not able to create their own maps from scratch, instead choosing from a selection of pre-fabricated rooms to 'snap' together. Users can then place objects, logic and demons in those rooms to create their own maps.

SnapMap initially started out with only 'Industrial' or 'UAC' modules and gameplay similar to the campaign and multiplayer modes, but has been upgraded to include 'Hell' and 'Classic' modules, as well as various features from the campaign mode, including the weapon wheel and the ability to create a chronological level list.

It also had a misspelling in the music, going through the classic songs will display "Demons On The Pray" instead of the actual "E1M7 - Demons On The Prey"

  • This mode strongly resembles the map maker from the TimeSplitters series.
