The Icon of Sin returns again in both campaigns of Final Doom. The game manual names the Doom II Icon as Baphomet and the Final Doom one as "a demon Gatekeeper."
Background[]
TNT/Evilution[]
In TNT: Evilution, the Icon of Sin returns as a Demon-Spitter. The brain of this variant, unlike Plutonia and Doom 2, is positioned in such a way that it can be damaged by regular attacks, in addition to rockets, for example, a pistol. Also, after death, the Demon-Spitter does not show an explosion after death.
The Plutonia Experiment[]
In The Plutonia Experiment, the Icon of Sin returns as the Gatekeeper. She is almost identical in every way to the usual Icon of Sin, except that it is guarded by most powerful monsters and a Cyberdemon.
