Gameplay[]

Doom Resurrection is an on-rails mobile game. To aim, players would use the accelerometer in the phone to shift the crosshair around. There are four buttons on the screen: reload in top right, weapon swap in top left, fire in bottom right, and dodge/cover (situational) in bottom left. To collect ammo and health, players would need to tap the screen at the location of the item. There is no ammo in the game.

The game has four difficulty modes, like Doom 3: Recruit, Marine, Veteran, and Nightmare.

Gameplay can be a bit slow. There is rarely any progression while enemies (rarely more than two at a time) are on screen, and there are moments where there are back-to-back-to-back waves of enemies. At the end of each level, players get ranked based on their performance - accuracy, head shots, secret items, etc. If the player dies, they'll reload at the last checkpoint at 100 health, regardless of how much health they had when reaching the checkpoint (at least at Marine difficulty).

Other than the opening cinematic, which shares elements of Doom 3's opening cinematic, there is no voiced dialogue, with the story told entirely through text.
