The Doom Marine is the hero of Doom 3: BFG Edition whose adventures span across BFG version of Doom 3, Resurrection of Evil and the classic doom games according to the manual for the release.

Featuring enhanced versions of DOOM 3, DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil and the all-new DOOM 3: The Lost Mission, plus the classics DOOM and DOOM II, DOOM 3 BFG Edition is the consummate DOOM experience.

Behind the scenes[]

The BFG Edition marine is said to be the same marine in Doom 3 and ROE, and apparently the classic games as well. It also seemingly implies he is also the Bravo marine in Lost Missions but this not the case as Doom 3 marine sees aftermath of the battle that killed off most of Bravo team and Lost Episode starts around the same time (after Bravo marine wakes up after being knocked out during the battle). Thus making both stories parallel to each other.

It is rumored that the cancelled third Doom Novel based on ROE would have had John Kane return to Mars after recovering after events of the second novel.

In Quake Champions codexes the Doom Marine Doom Slayer has the flashlight from the original Doom 3 and the lore mentions that it’s cumbersome and can’t be used while firing a weapon in reference to the original version of the game rather BFG edition.
