The Doom Hunter is new type of enemy introduced in Doom Eternal. The Doom Hunter is a type of demon called the Agardon Hunter from the Telos Realm. It comes equipped with an arm-cannon, a twin-barred chainsaw arm, and a rocket barrage attack. It hovers on a hovertank-style platform, meaning it has lower mobility but possibly heavier armor.
After the Unholy Crusade, most Agardon Hunters are rendered extinct, but some were revived and designed to hunt the Doom Slayer.[1]
it has been stated that the remains of the Doom Hunter were found and excuvated in a remote location in the Anartic by the UAC cultists, where it was in a hibernation that lasted for millenia. When it was excuvated, the Doom Hunter was mechaniclly augmented by both the cultists and Deag Ranak.
Trivia
- It bears some resemblance to Sabaoth from Doom 3 (a humanoid on treads equipped with ranged weaponry), the Strogg Heavy Hover Tank from Quake IV, and the Necron Destroyer from Warhammer 40,000.
