Unlike its PC and console counterpart doom classic for mobile offers players 3 different control schemes and the amount of enemies is reduced to maximize performance even if it was set on Nightmare difficulty. Doom classic mobile has no multiplayer just the single player levels from the original doom and it is somewhat difficult to control as both the movement stick and the aiming stick are highly sensitive which would take a while for new players to get use to before playing the game on harder difficulties.

Doom Classic is a Doom game that is basically Doom 1 on the Iphone, Ipod Touch, and Ipad. It has the graphics of the Atari Jaguar port of Doom 1 and the SNES Doom 1 port's music. To find it on the App Store, simply type in Doom, or look in the other games made by id software if you bought Wolfenstein 3D.

Controls/Gameplay

Unlike its PC and console counterpart doom classic for mobile offers players 3 different control schemes and the amount of enemies is reduced to maximize performance even if it was set on Nightmare difficulty. Doom classic mobile has no multiplayer just the single player levels from the original doom and it is somewhat difficult to control as both the movement stick and the aiming stick are highly sensitive which would take a while for new players to get use to before playing the game on harder difficulties.

Control Schemes

The game comes with three different control schemes that behave differently from one another and these are what they are listed below.

  • Single Thumbpad: The movement joystick is at the bottom left, the aiming joystick is at the bottom right while the firing button is at the top right this is highly recommended for players who only use half of the IPad screen.
  • Twin Thumbpad: The movement joystick remains in the same position except the aiming joystick is relocated to the top right while the fire button is in the bottom left this makes movement a bit hectic for new players.
  • Dir Wheel: The controls are the same as using the single Thumbpad except the aiming joystick is replaced with a turning that allows precise aiming at the cost of slower reaction times best recommended for seasoned players only.
