:Because that's how the episodes are defined. Look at the sky textures in the maps. SKY1 for maps 01 to 11, SKY2 for maps 12 to 20, and SKY3 for maps 21 to 30. --[[User:Gez|Gez]] 10:47, November 22, 2011 (UTC)

There's also the text intermissions after levels 11, 20 and 30. (And one after level 6 but the sky doesn't change at level 7.) --[[User:Gez|Gez]] 10:47, November 22, 2011 (UTC)

A possible project for a bot, if we ever have one, would be to fix the inconsistent sortkeys of our map articles.  For example, right now the "Author Name levels" and "Commercial Title levels" categories are sorted by map slot, while "Category:Levels by name" is sorted by level name.    Ryan W 23:52, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

Why the Doom II templates are grouped so that first has 11 levels, second 9, and third 10? 85.217.20.33 09:26, November 22, 2011 (UTC)

Because that's how the episodes are defined. Look at the sky textures in the maps. RSKY1 for maps 01 to 11, RSKY2 for maps 12 to 20, and RSKY3 for maps 21 to 30. There's also the text intermissions after levels 11, 20 and 30. (And one after level 6 but the sky doesn't change at level 7.) --Gez 10:47, November 22, 2011 (UTC)
