Background[]

The particular difference between this and original Doom 3 timeline is the general conceit that the Doom Marine (BFG Edition) in Doom 3/Resurrection of Evil/Doom 1-2 are the same marine. Bravo Marine (The Lost Mission) is treated as a separate character and survivor of the Bravo team ambush in Doom 3.

Step into the boots of DOOM Marine and experience his adventures for the first time, or all over again. Featuring enhanced versions of DOOM 3, DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil and the all-new DOOM 3: The Lost Mission, plus the classics DOOM and DOOM II, DOOM 3 BFG Edition is the consummate DOOM experience.

There are certain events/changes to Doom 3/ROE encounters/locations/scripted events compared to the original as well.

While Doom 1-2's placements are not specific in this versions timeline. It is often thought they take place after Doom 3, and the BFG's character summary above does mention them 'after' the Doom 3 materials (though stating they are the classics).

The timeline of the DOOM series can be a bit convoluted, but basically everything up until DOOM 2016 featured Doomguy as the protagonist. DOOM 3, 1, and 2, in that order, chronicle his battle with the forces of hell.[1]

That being said the RPG timeline implies that the order is Doom 1-3...
