Andy "Aurikan" Kempling (also Aurican), is a former Doom player and programmer that joined the online community around the time of the original Doom source release. He was a fan of Lee Killough's work, and did some research on bot AI and implemented an early chase cam in Doom. He also participated in demo competitions, including Compet-n until his use of a modified DOSDoom executable became evident. His Doom-related webpage was named Nexus (on Doomworld), and he became part of the group that managed the #doomroom IRC channel.

Aurikan lost part of his interest in the games after Killough's withdrawl from the community, and in 2001, after the DoomServ and CsDoom controversies, he practically left the Doom community altogether, focusing his gaming interests elsewhere.
